About Felis Catus

We’re Felis Catus. We care for cats in Craiova.

We are a Craiova-based association bringing together rescue, veterinary care, recovery and responsible adoption. We work one case at a time, with patience and the support of our community.

Thoughtful intervention

We assess each situation and look for a response that fits the cat's actual needs.

02

Recovery at their pace

Treatment, food, quiet and socialisation require time and continuity.

03

A path to family life

We prepare adoptions through honest conversations and careful matching.

How we work

Rescue does not end on the day a cat reaches safety.

Some cases begin on the street, others in a garden, a clinic or a message from someone who chose not to walk past.

What follows is less visible: assessment, treatment, suitable food, hygiene, observation, trust and finding a family able to continue that care responsibly.

  • priority for vulnerable cases;
  • work with veterinary professionals;
  • temporary fostering and socialisation;
  • carefully prepared adoptions.

Our mission

From the first message to adoption

We do not promise instant solutions. We promise to take each life seriously and to be honest about where we can help.

  1. 01

    Understand the case

    We gather the essential details and assess urgency.

  2. 02

    Reach safety

    We look for veterinary support, transport and an appropriate place to recover.

  3. 03

    Build trust

    Daily care and socialisation prepare the cat for what comes next.

  4. 04

    Find a home

    We speak with the future family and make a responsible match.

People like you make this possible

You don’t have to do everything. A trip to the vet, care supplies or a temporary home for a cat are all useful ways to help.

If you live in Craiova or nearby, tell us what you can offer and when you are available. For cases in neighbouring areas, we first discuss distance, transport and the resources needed.

  • Occasional help is welcome too.
  • Check what is needed before bringing supplies.
  • Arrange visits and transport with us in advance.
