Kieran: a limp that led to an unexpected diagnosis
We took Kieran to the vet because he was limping. He was only around five months old, and the tests showed us that his condition was much more serious than it first appeared.
We started treatment

It started with a limp
We were told about a little black kitten who seemed to be dragging his leg. When we found him, Kieran was limping, but it did not look as serious as we had expected. We caught him in a humane trap and took him to Franco Vet in Craiova.
The X-ray changed everything
At the first examination, it looked like a dislocation, but we decided to have an X-ray taken as well. We learned that he had an old pelvic fracture that had already healed. The investigation also revealed fluid in his chest and abdomen: Kieran had wet FIP, feline infectious peritonitis.
The first step towards recovery
We started treatment for FIP. We hoped to see the first signs of improvement soon and for him to begin gaining weight. His journey into our care had started with a leg that worried us; we discovered in time that he needed much more help.
We named her Seraphina and took her to the vet. After a hard life on the streets, this cat of around ten years old needed treatment and somewhere safe to stay.
